Comments on my classmates opinions

I thought it was interesting that Ryan said: "In addition to that, the couple landscapes feel very silent as if there would only be light noise in the background." I didn't even think of that, but after reading Ryan's comment, I thought it was very fitting. I think it is fitting, because of the darker colors included in the pictures.

I also thought it was interesting that Katie observed:"Jeff Wall's photographs seem to be a kind of documentary. Its interesting, to me, a majority of them are staged." I did not think of that initially, but after looking at Katie's comments, I went back to look through Jeff Wall's pictures, and I completely agree.

Four Artists

Gregory Crewdson

I noticed that most of his works when showing people, show them alone. The emotions on their

faces looks like they are always upset, and lonely. For example, in this picture the man is just sitting alone starting at the television. There is a woman in the background, but she is standing alone, not looking to be interested in communicating with the man. Most of the pictures are in darker colors, rather than brighter colors which would suggest some form oh happiness.

Teun Hocks

In his works the people all seem to have been dealing with some sort of failure. In this picture, the drummer's drum has a hole in it, so the drummer can't play it anymore. The dark colors suggest sadness. Not only does the drummer look like he is upset that his drum is broken, but he also looks frustrated with the fact.

Jeff Wall

I find that his pictures show instances that the people in the picture are being unlucky. Other pictures show messy rooms, and things that are all jumbled up. The pictures look weathered, but they also look like they are very naturally made.

Cindy Sherman

Her work is all of herself in black and white photos dressing up as a woman from the 50's. All of the pictures show her as either a glam movie star, or a housewife. It almost seems as if she is a woman in a movie.

Inspirations

I am very interested in sports, which is where I get most of my inspiration from.

I also am interested in animation, mostly in Disney movies.
